Testimony

Pray for us...

"I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.   -  Phil 1:3-6

"The LORD is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made." -  Psalms 45:13b.

Dear friends and prayer partners.
Thank you again for all your prayers and encouragement.

God is good and we want to praise God for He is forever faithful.  Thank you also for your prayers for us and for your support and encouragement to us. We have been blessed by your gifts notes, feedback on our website guestbook, blogs, emails, SMSs and calls to us.

Neville went to see his cardiologist last month for his physiologic stress testing. This is a form of cardio stress test where a patient needs not go on the tread mill but is given an intravenous drip to stimulate his heart rate while an ultra sound scan is done. Praise God that the scan results showed that Neville's heart muscles have not deteriorated any further and remains at 45%. The doctor, though, has advised him to slow down and to work at half-pace.  Please continue to pray for him.

Neville continues to minister at several churches and groups last month. He has a very tight schedule for April especially during the Easter week. Neville will be speaking at Revival Centre on Good Friday April 10 at 10.30am and at a musical evangelistic outreach at Bethesda (Katong) Church on April 25.  He will speak at our church's combined service on April 26 at 10.30am.

Neville is also a DPRM and marriage counselor so he has been conducting marriage counseling sessions and will be solemnizing several weddings this month.

missions report

We have just returned from a trip to Cambodia and we ask for your prayers for our work there. The work of the church is not doing well and the number of worshippers has dwindled to only a handful. The school is also losing students and we are praying about moving the school to a better location.

Students drop out of school, even though it is free because their parents do not consider education to be important to them. The children hang out in the street, disheveled and dirty. Young children aged around six to twelve roam the streets looking for empty cans, plastic bottle or beg from customers and tourists in front of shopping malls, hotels and restuarants.

When we were there this trip, our hotel room overlooked a petrol station. We looked down one day and saw several young children, girls and boys, hanging around the the petrol pumps with pieces of dirty rags waiting to clean vehicles and begging for tips from the motorists and even motor cyclists who drove in to fill up their vehicles with petrol. It was a heart breaking to scene.

my hope singapore DVDs

We praise God
for what He is doing through the screening of the "My Hope Singapore" DVDs. We screened the DVD of Kelvin Soh and Neville's at our J.B. congregation as an evangelistic outreach. Kelvin Soh also brought the DVDs to Brunei and as a result Neville has been invited to preach in Brunei. We thank God for what He is doing through the DVDs.

Sequel to "Iron Man"
neville's third book

Neville's third book, a sequel to his second book "Iron Man" (his first was a booklet called "I'll Be There.") "The New Iron Man" will be ready for publication and should be out by May or June this year.

"The "Iron Man", published in 2002, related the story of Neville's conversion in prison, from a hard-core criminal to a redeemed child of God.
Now in this sequel, "The New Iron Man", Neville continues with his life story of God's amazing grace - from his release from prison to this present day.  Here you will find the author's open-heart sharing of the many trials and temptations, disappointments and setbacks he has confronted.  Neville hopes that the life-lessons which he has learnt, retold in this book, will be a source of encouragement to all readers, especially believers who are struggling in their walk with the Lord.
Neville Tan was born in April 1940.  His life story is one of God's amazing grace.  When everyone around him had given up hope on him, God rescued him from the brink of eternal condemnation and showed him the way to salvation and a life of faith in Christ.  After his release from prison, Neivelle went on to graduate from the Singapore Bible College and founded the Church of God (Evangelical) Singapore in Bedok, where he continues to serve as the Founding Senior Pastor and Counselor. For more than 30 years, Neivelle has helped many juvenile delinquents and troubled youths.  He and his wife Anne have three children. The couple still continues to lead church activities and have extended their work to Indonesia, Malaysia, Cambodia and Vietnam." - a review by Bok Tan

Prayer Needs

1.       Pray for us as we continue to serve the Lord to the best of our ability and for as long as the Lord allows us.

2.      Pray for the work in Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia and Vietnam. Please continue to pray especially for Cambodia that God will give us wisdom how to deal with difficult situations and problems we face there.

3.      Continue to pray for our family, pray especially for our daughter Theodora who has moved to France to do  her next stage for an executive business course. Our twins, John and Paul are still working in the U.S.

Finally, continue to pray for Neville as he preaches in various churches in Singapore and also in other countries.

Thank you for praying for us.

In His Grace.
